Press: Design Sponge
My big scissor print appears on Design Sponge today in a sneak peek post on the home of textile designer Bev Hisey.
Gorgeous photo by Donna Griffith.
All my prints are available through my online shop.
I had seen Bev's home pre reno and can tell you this new sunny space is a stunning transformation from the previous tiny dark kitchen. I love the farm house sink and especially the large pantry
which eliminated the need for upper cabinets and made the space feel
much bigger.
Bev did an amazing job of her reno. You can view her entire home here.
If you like Bev's style you'll be happy to learn that in addition to her textile work Bev has recently opened a shop full of her curated finds called EveryDayHousewife.

New York's Newest neighbourhood: SOPO
Very clever illustration by Jake Levine.
It was an incredible adventure to be in SOPO this pass week.
Feel very grateful to be home and thinking of those less fortunate in New York.
Caught in the middle of Hurricane Sandy
Caught in the middle of Hurricane Sandy and having just the coziest time.
There is no power in all of lower Manhattan and no light in the rooms or hot water in the hotel = guests hanging out in the shared spaces reading, dining and playing board games by candlelight.
Pretty damn cozy.

Saul Steinberg Wallpaper Here I come!
Am off to New York tomorrow and will be staying at the Soho Grand for the first time.
The location is great and I've heard the bar is too die for but what really clinched it for me is the fact that every bathroom contains this wonderful Aviary wallpaper by Saul Steinberg!
This paper was created by Steinberg in the 1950s and reissued years later by Schumacher.
What a fantasticly (sp!) quirky choice by Interior Designer Bill Sofield and perfect space for an illustrator to stay methinks. Can't wait to take a shower!
ps. If you wanna see what hijinks I'm planning... you can check my Pinterest NYC board.
Am going to hear Todd Oldham speak on Saturday as part of the Designers and Books Fair. (!)
